I don’t think there was a handicap at all,if the race were repeated I reckon it could still go either way.
The car has the luxury of acceleraring in both directions and only slowing/braking for the turn around.
The jet would have to have used close to full thrust in a vertical climb to act against gravity BUT use minimum throttle in the nose dive down to avoid overstressing the airframe.
From the video footage it appears they turned around at the same time

That was pretty close, in fact, thats an actual victory for the Bugatti since no other car can’t even get close to these result. I would feel absolutely proud of my self and the mighty Bugatti.

why the fuck top gear always compares cars to planes? , a plane is built for flying in the air, why they forget that?

yeh but u forgot tht typhoons can go supersonic. make it in the middle of the countryside without any ppl at all and the veyron will get trashed

@scott93257 I know of at least one vehicle that accelerates faster than a top fuel dragster… Ever heard of Thrust SSC??
jet engines > powered wheels in any acceleration competition. Wheels do not have enough traction to compete.
