So now we just design cars to be better missiles? Seems like people look for the car that assures that that they’ll be the winner in a collision. Volvo designs its vehicles with crumple zones to absorb impact. This car obliterated the Volvo (and the passengers inside) because it didn’t absorb anything.

Rambler had them to prevent sliding off the reclining seats ,in the early 60′s

My Grandma had a 94′ 940. Got in a crash at roughly 50 mph. Ran fine after but needed a tow only because part of the fender was against the tire. I love volvo

Just look at the E-Class W124, it is twice as good as the 940.

There is another crash test between Yaris and 945 (Volvo). The Yaris crashed more compared to the Modus while the Volvo looked exactly like this one after the crash
