How is that happening? – ha ha ha ha
McLaren’s still got it!
Btw, does anyone know where the music at the first seconds is from? Sounds familiar…

@jonnykemp11285
McLaren GTR is a race car making a comparison with a road car pointless.

@BTBugger
Already done in Japan. Veyron reached 9.95 seconds compared to 11 second for McLaren F1. Obviously Top Gear run was rigged to favour F1 at launch henched the deliberate drop of acceleration by the Hamster on Veyron.

@ebradahusla thats not top gear that full of it, they’re simply repeating what Bugatti has told them…

I love Topgear but its full of shit! At the end he said 320kph which equals to 198.84mph, so you mean to say that if the McLaren had a 120mph headstart, the Veyron would still win the race at 200mph? Total BS!

the F1′s beauty is in its simplicity, and the Veyron’s in its complexity. The Bugatti will show you what amazing things it can do, whereas the McLaren is like a blank slate for you to see what you can do. The Bugatti is a celebration of engineering and the McLaren is a celebration of driving, both flawlessly designed for their task. The VW guys had numbers they wanted to achieve, and Gordon Murray had an experience he wanted to convey.

the only reason the Mclaren got away at the beginning is because they didn’t use launch control in the Bugatti to make it fair!
Bugatti 0-100 km/h (62 mph): 2,5 seconds
Mclaren 0-100 km/h (mph): 3,2 seconds

McLaren gets the leadership up to 240km/h and after that point, that the veyron passes McLaren is pointless.I prefer a McLaren f1 instead of a veyron.

had the stig driven the veyron, the start might have been closer

two beautiful cars, i’d take to f1 if given the choice

If you ask me the Bugatti Veyron so lost this race. Your comparring 2005 to 1995, 1001HP to 550HP. And it only started to pass the F1 at 240KM/H. Yeah the F1 lost the race but it put up a damn good fight with half the power and being 10 years older.
Im curious though how the Veyron would have done against the McLaren F1 LM with 680HP and being lighter and better tuned…

It would be interesting to see who would win in a 1/4 mile race. The McLaren F1 was certainly faster off the mark than the Bugatti Veyron and it never really caught the McLaren until about the half mile mark. On the other hand being a patriotic Kiwi I love the McLaren more than I’ll ever like the Bugatti. McLarens named after one of our founding fathers of New Zealand Motorsport, Bruce McLaren and like New Zealand the McLaren is a one of and still the most beautiful sports production car ever

There is a myth on BV. Most of videos show this car wins drag races all,simply because of power to the top gear. Most of us were born not that luck to have a chance to drive this $million car. Is this “super car”? Can any one prove with a video shown this car is a winner on a track (other than on straight drag race)?
See my videos:

I did test for corning entry speed (long description in the video):
